Association of Alternative Peer Groups

We recognize that adolescence is one of the toughest phases of someone’s life. Our mission is to develop and sustain effective Alternative Peer Groups that support recovery.

Who We Are

Consisting of professionals from Alternative Peer Groups and community organizations that support APGs, the Association of Alternative Peer Groups was created to assist in the creation, development, maintenance and regulation of APGs.

Spotlight

Lifeway International, Teen and Family Services, Hope For Today Counseling Services, Palmer Drug Abuse Program and Cornerstone Recovery worked together to complete a video highlighting the Alternative Peer Group model of drug abuse recovery for teens.

Highlights

Experts discuss the benefits of Alternative Peer Groups during recovery and explain that these groups will be a required part of the curriculum at Wake Monarch Academy. They stress the importance of teens in recovery finding a positive group of people all striving for the same thing. Funding for Opioids: State of Recovery is provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield.
